Caissons

Milton Precast offers a range of reinforced units suitable for sinking by the caisson method from 2000mm up to 4000mm, in accordance with the requirements of BS EN 1917:2002 and have Kitemark certification where relevant to BS 5911-3:2010.

Milton Precast caissons offers a quick and easy solution that is suited to high-plasticility clays, gravel, sands, silts and weak soils which requires minimal site labour costs whilst being a fast, clean accurate method of construction which is suitable for pumping stations, wet wells and manholes.

DN4000 supplied as a two piece unit +Non Kitemarked

A Tongue and Grove Joint is used for caissons in DN2400, 3660 and 4000.

A flat and groove joint is used for DN2000, 2740 and 3000 

Caisson rings provided by Milton Precast are:

  1. DN4000 supplied as a two piece unit
  2. The steel cutting shoes are fitted to the base section providing a 10mm over break(20mm for 3660mm and 4000mm). Cutting shoes with a larger over break can be manufactured upon request.
  3. When a concrete cutting shoe is requested as an alternative to steel (for use in certain ground conditions) it is done entirely at the client’s risk.
  4. The DN3660 and DN4000 steel cutting shoe is supplied in two sections.
  5. Caisson lifting equipment is available from our Sales team or recommended specialist supplier
  6.
